LISTENING ROOM
The work... So far...
2019
This is something I always wanted to do - record a song in French! The song I chose was a big
hit for singer/songwriter, Ian Lee from Quebec, Canada. I got his blessing to cover his song and
he liked what we did. I hope you do too!
I would like to say a special thank you to Andrew Fraker for the fantastic guitar solo
and my friends Sahar, Mina, Nada, Rasha, and Ali,
as well as Stacy Fifer at L’Institut français d’Oak Park for helping me with my French!

The Singles - Orignals
2017Inspired by a conversation I had with one of my best friends about the outcome of the 2016 US presidential election, this song is about being supportive and kind to each other in these very strange times.
2017This is the original version of this song... before my awesomely talented friends, Tony Calderisi (also my bass and guitar player on all of my records) and Andrew Fraker came in and made it better...

2009 / 2016My second "hit" from my 2009 album, "Letters from Broken Street". I call it a hit because on fearlessradio.com's listener supported weekly countdown show, it reached the #19 position in May 2010.
2009This song was voted to the #11 spot on fearlessradio. com's weekly top 10 listener-voted countdown show in May 2010. This song gave me my first "hit" and first proud moment as a songwriter.

2016 / 2017This original song was written from the perspective of a soldier driving thru the nite to be home with his (or her) family in time for Christmas. Its a Christmas song, but it's also kind of not...

The Singles - Covers
Cape Breton, Nova Scotia native, Jimmy Rankin, has always been one of my favourite singer/songwriters. I wanted to record one of his songs for a long time. I hope I made him proud...
|
This is my take on the Blue Rodeo classic. It appeared on my first CD, "Letters From Broken Street," in 2009. Here, it's been remixed and remastered.
|
Written by Toronto, Canada-based singer/songwriter, Matthew Barber, this song has been a favourite of mine since I first heard it in 2009. This is my take on Matt's beautiful song.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to licensing, the cover songs are only available for streaming and downloading in the United States and Canada.
Albums, EPs, Compilations, & Collaborations
2017On this 2017 EP, I got political. The outcome of the 2016 US presidential elections weighed heavily on my mind, so I wrote a song about it. "Better Days" was inspired by a conversation I had with one of my best friends about how he and his wife used the elections as a teaching moment for their son. As a songwriter, it's perhaps my proudest moment!

2009My first album released in 2009. I'm still proud of it. Two of the songs from this CD charted on fearlessradio.com's Top 30 listener-supported countdown show in May 2010: "The Show Goes On" made it to the #9 spot, while the next single, "Beautiful Again," made it to the #19 spot. It (almost) felt like I won a Grammy Award!
|
2009The song "Beautiful Again," was featured in this compilation CD for Oasis Disc Manufacturing. This was a sampler of music that went out to radio stations across the country. I share space on this CD with some really good bands, like Love at War and singer/songwriters like Joe Colledge...
This is a hard CD to find... you might want to try looking on ebay... |
2006I met Steven Francque at a guitar class at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music in the early 2000's. We hit it off and talked about writing together. One day, I gave him a set of lyrics that I couldn't do anything with and asked him to try to make something of it. He ended up writing the music to a song called "High, Lonesome Sound." It ended up on his 2006 CD, "Digging in the Dirt."
